Continuous cation (acid) conductivity monitoring with a dedicated pre-rinse cation resin column.
The AMI-II Powercon Acid Pre-Rinse is designed for automatic, continuous measurement of cation (acid) conductivity. It measures conductivity after the sample has passed through a cation exchange resin, commonly referred to as conductivity after cation exchange (CACE), helping identify potentially corrosive ionic contamination. A second cation exchanger continuously rinses the replacement resin so it is ready for immediate use, enabling faster resin changes and greater measurement availability. The analyser delivers real-time water quality information to support corrosion prevention, dependable plant performance and more effective maintenance planning.
Key Features

- Integrated cation exchanger with automatic deaeration supports reliable continuous operation.
- Transparent resin column allows the condition and exhaustion of the cation resin to be checked visually.
- Temperature compensation for strong acids supports accurate conductivity measurement.
- Quick and straightforward resin replacement helps reduce maintenance downtime.
AMI-II Powercon Acid Pre-rinse Specifications
The AMI-II Powercon Acid Pre-rinse combines the AMI-II Powercon transmitter, UP-Con1000-SL conductivity sensor, Catcon-Plus-SL flow cell and a separate pre-rinse cation resin column. The fully assembled system is installed on a stainless steel panel and supplied ready for installation and operation.
The secondary cation exchanger continuously rinses the replacement resin, ensuring it is prepared for immediate use. This enables quicker resin changeover and helps maintain greater measurement availability.
The transmitter provides two signal outputs for measured values or continuous control, two relays that can be configured as limit switches or controllers, an alarm relay for collective alarm indication and an input for a potential-free contact.
The flow cell incorporates a manual flow adjustment valve, digital sample flow meter and integrated cation exchanger vessel with automatic deaeration.
